Daily Dose: ‘Pound For Pound’ by Daniel Dubb

As I agonise over my favourite albums of the year list, let’s start afresh with the music that I’ll never get tired of hearing, chilled out stripped back deep house. Daniel Dubb, now operating out of Toronto, has been operating at a high level in the EDM scene for a while, and he specialises in music that just sounds… cool. And somewhat effortless. I heard this when it first came out a couple of years ago and remembered thinking that it was a great beginning track, something to listen to that sounded fresh and energising. Simply put, its good vibes (provided you like this sort of electronic music). It came out on an album called Pieces of the Past (13th July, 2015, top name), which is pretty dope, and has some really good remixes to go with it, like for instance this one. I don’t know what it is about laid back deep house that makes me so happy, there’s no real reason it should, but without fail this sort of noise never fails to put me in a good mood. If you like the low end percussion and synth work, check it out, I’ll be doing a bunch of electronica tracks in sequence now so there’s hopefully enough variety to keep people interested. If not, well, Daniel Dubb has put me in my happy space, so it’s all good either way.
