‘Honey’ is the latest single of All We Are’s first album of the same name. They are a trio who hail from a variety of exotic locations, and I think their LP is great. It’s got high pitched, semi whispered vocals and crisp drums and layered guitars, and it’s well-blended together to create a soft, vaguely sensual effect. It’s not the most distinct sound ever, but I really like the smooth groove, even if it’s not especially intimate. Disclaimer warning: it is all smooth groove, and that will not do it for everyone. This songs got a more funk pop vibe than a lot of the album, and it’s not my favourite song from it (that would be the super chill ‘Utmost Good’) but it’s funky and inoffensive and chugs along neatly, even if it is a bit lacking in exuberance.
